Turn The Tables On BN: Vote For PKR No Matter Who The Candidate Is

The above words must be instilled amongst all Sarawakians until they are engrained.

Here is Jasmine's take on this issue (thank you, Jasmine):

I'm a Kelana Jaya (Selangor) voter. This is my advice to all of you Dayaks and Batang Ai voters or those who will go there to campaign, when PKR picked Loh Gwo Burne as the candidate, there was an uproar. People protested and asked many questions. He was not known apart from being the man who recorded the Lingam tapes and worse, he was facing a popular candidate who was a 3 term assemblyman but was promoted to the Federal Parliament.

Fearing that he may lose, PKR and PR supporters asked many questions and I must admit he was not the best candidate. Furthermore, he couldn't speak in Bahasa Malaysia, a must for a Parliamentarian. The people asked how could we elect someone who even couldn't express himself in the language of the nation and parliament. Later, many people including Haris Ibrahim, Zorro and others tried to argue that we needed a new candidate. Many other voters and bloggers argued of the same.

After this, some of us started lashing out at the critics and we said: "Our main goal is to defeat BN. Even if PKR has put in there a dog, we prefer a dog to BN." Then we rallied to him and also helped him win convincingly despite being a non-voter. Can you imagine? He himself was not a resgistered voter yet due to our hatred for BN, we simply voted in any man/woman who stood against BN. Are we regretting today? Absolutely not.

He is doing a good job and Selangor is making records, all for good reasons. If Batang Ai voters, different PKR factions and interested candidates don't reason like Peninsular voters, if the Dayaks don't stop this cancerous divide tactics where they divide themselves, if the Dayaks don't stop betraying one another whenever they don't agree on candidates, if the Dayaks continue arguing about this and that when the whistle has been blown, if the Dayaks don't stop this stupid mentality of talking too much about candidate and tribal affiliations, then you will be selling your future to Taib Mahmud.

Soon he will die and his son will rule you for 40 years to come and by then you would have lost any hope for survival. You will be enslaved for good. And you will blame no one bcoz you want it.

This is my advice, when the candidate is picked, however unpopular he/she is, rally behind him. Your enemy no.1 should be BN and Taib. Forget the candidate, it should be about BN. The candidate can corrected and once he wins, he will know the importance of goodwill, unity and will appreciate those who supported him despite their differences, but BN can't be corrected and nothing can be done to stop their corruption and subjugation.

The choice is yours and you better do something drastic about this. Batang Ai should unite all of you. If Bawin or any other is picked, everyone should support him and do his utmost to help him win. But if you start arguing, asking and making noise, then you are telling Taib and Jabu: "We are stupid people who cherish to be enslaved by you and your future children for eternity."

There you have it Sarawakians. The choice is yours. Let the voters of Batang Ai lead the way!

I am a Kelana Jaya voter too.
A agree with your writing. Before and after voting, I heard of all kinds negative comment about YB Loh. I did vote for PKR and YB Loh.
I observed YB Loh activities as MP, so far excellent to me. Good job our YB and keep it up!

Dear Sarawakians,

I am also a registered Kelana Jaya voter. For a whole week since 2nd March 2008, my friends and I brave the rain almost everyday to listen to these PR candidates so that we know the issues and who we are voting for. When I first heard Gwo Burne speak, I was so disheartened as he could barely speak on the isues we have. Why? Because he was working in China all this while, and he does not have a clue what was our local problems. The good part was that he was willing to give up his businnes interest (at least for now) and come back to stand up for us and be counted. Yes, he also promised he would brush up his BM. And then when I turn on the TV and listen to the news, it's nothing short of UMNO/BN propaganda. I'm just so sick of the rhetorics about how much the BN govt has done for us. Halo, The govt's business is TO TAKE CARE OF US, OK?? Show us the results to get voted in again. If not, out you go. With all the ongoing corruptions, We would have voted a stick too if PR had fielded one! So far, Gwo Burne is doing his job.

I would like to ask you guys in Sarawak how much has the BN done for you - they can build the tallest building in the world and the longest bridge (at one time) but they cannot provide electricity and clean water for our fellow Malaysians in the rural areas. Yet, it is these places that have provided for the states. Please think hard for the next generation, changes can only come if we make it happen. It may be a small step and a slow start, but it's a start to reclaim OUR country. BN only takes, it's not an equal relationship. If you're in a bad relationship, end it sooner rather than later so that you can move on to better things in your life.

One day a black man stood up and spoke infront of many and said.... "I have a dream....." and more than 50 years later his dream came true. No one dare to dream such a dream, Abraham Lincoln never thought such thing can ever happen when he abolished slavery. The first black became President of USA, Barrack Obama. Beyond my wildest dream and yet it happened and trust me CHANGE CAN HAPPEN IF WE ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN.

I for one born and raised in Lubok Antu, the new breed of iban (and many more of my LA mates shared the same conviction) is looking forward for a change. WE DON'T WANT TO BE RULED BY A BLOOD SUCKING DICTATOR ! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !

The whole Malaysia will see and realise how much Sarawakians want a Change and the result of by election in Batang Ai will tell taib and his cronies to GO! We don't need you all coz we have suffered enough. You have sucked too much of our blood..........

Hello brother DeePo,

I agree with Engkari Blood and many other commentors from Batang Ai. I am from Lubok Antu too and to me it's not about Anwar, it's not about PKR, it's not about DAP it's not about BN, or PRS or SPDP, it's about a change from DICTATORSHIP to TRUE DEMOCRACY.

The whole issue here that i see is people are longing to get rid of taib and his cronies. That's the talks in lubok antu coffee shops. So, this coming By Election is going to be the expression of rakyat telling the federal to get rid of taib and if not BN will loose their grip in Sarawak.

It's all about hatred towards taib and i dont blame them because i am proud to say that i am one of them.
