SUPP Chokes On Its Kampua Mee, Sibu Voters Reject Najib & Taib’s Money Politics

“Eighteen million for Chinese schools? They don’t need it. One hundred and ten Iban longhouses have no water, no electricity.”

Notwithstanding the narrow winning margin, which was to be expected in view of the BN's politics of divisiveness, racism, electoral corruption, bribery and general chicanery, the majority of the Sibu voters must be congratulated for saying no to the BN.

The margin of victory would have been decisively larger had not many of the Sibu voters still fallen prey to the BN's dirty tactics and tricks.

Then again, it appears that many of SUPP's traditional voters also protested by not voting. What exactly were they protesting about or were they just as disgusted with the BN's tactics and what has been happening in Sarawak and the rest of Malaysia, but didn't know how else to get their party to listen to them?

Even SUPP doesn't seem to know! Or maybe they are just pretending not to know!

Nevertheless, this victory belongs to the people of Sibu who withstood all manner of inducements, threats and promises, as well as DAP and Pakatan Rakyat who proved that they could work together as a potent force. It certainly does not augur well for the BN in the coming State elections which may be called at any time now.

Even those who were bribed, intimidated or tricked into voting for the BN will be happy with the results as are those who protested by not voting.

SUPP's stupid "killer" weapon not only killed SUPP itself but also stabbed UMNO in the process. See Sarawak Headhunter's post on "Senjata Maut BN Makan Tuan Di Sibu". SUPP said in their ceramahs "Even the UMNO Malays do not want Islam...", which is probably true, given the way the UMNO Malays behave. SUPP may not have realised what they were saying and this certainly would have caused them more than a few Malay/Melanau (Muslim) votes on top of being insulting to the Non-Muslims who know better.

Anyway, it is not the Sarawak Headhunter's job to show them where they went wrong. It would be much better for the state and the country if they didn't learn where they went wrong, since it is quite apparent that they don't want to learn and therefore will never learn.

At the end of the day, it can be said that in spite of the Election Commission's attempt to cheat and win the by-election for the BN, the majority of the people of Sibu did not buy the BN's lies, even with all the incentives that were thrown at them and with practically the whole of the Federal Cabinet campaigning for SUPP's candidate and abusing government machinery, staff, money and allocations (led by none other than the PM himself and his Deputy in his absence).

It is also notable that this by-election showed up Taib and Najib's conceit, hypocrisy, deceipt and deviousness for everyone to see. It was a mistake for both Najib and Taib to show themselves in Sibu but they both couldn't resist it.

Congratulations, YB Wong Ho Leng! Raise the banner of Sibu high and fight for the rights of all oppressed Sarawakians in Parliament, as you have done in the Sarawak State Assembly in spite of all the constraints placed upon you by Taib, the evil Thief Minister and his gang of marauding looters.

Sibu is also the hometown of Sarawak Headhunter, so this victory is all the more sweet. Yes, the spirit of Rosli Dhoby still lives on in Sibu! May this be an example for the rest of Sarawak and even the rest of Malaysia to emulate.

Be it known that Sarawak Headhunter voted for Wong Ho Leng.

Be also assured that Sarawak Headhunter will not rest until Taib's head rolls and with it the rest of the BN ADUN's heads as well, beginning with the main culprits like Abang Jo, Alfred Jabu, George Chan, Awang Asfia, Awang Tengah, Wong Soon Koh, James Masing and the other rogue YBs.

As a side issue but connected to the Sibu by-election as well, to the people of Kapit who will soon get a brand new road, remember that the timber wealth of your ulu areas is being barged down the river and to the sea into the waiting overseas bank accounts of Taib, his family, henchmen and cronies, while all you enjoy are polluted waters, dying and dead fish.

This new road that you have been waiting for since 1963 will make it easier for them to truck down the timber wealth from the Murum Dam site and you will see it all pass by you as well. You will not enjoy a single log of it but the dust from their lorries. And then they will sell you electricity at exorbitant rates even as they take your land away from you while you toil for them for meagre wages, all in the name of Taib's "politics of development" - which is more the politics of self-enrichment for him and deprivation for you.

Natives of Sarawak, rise up! You have nothing to lose except your poverty and impoverishment and the chains of oppression and deprivation of the rightful fruits of your own resources, hard work, sweat and tears - taken from you by one man and his cohorts.

The people of Sibu have shown you the way. Just do it! (NOT duit!) Evil can be defeated and it will if you are willing to make an effort for change - for the better - for not just your own sake but the sake of your future generations as well.

Get rid of the BN! It has become a party for the rich, and its representatives no longer represent, let alone fight for, the people and their rights and interests.

Did you vote them in so that they could become rich and powerful at your expense? Did you vote for them so that they could kick you off your land at their whims and fancies? Did you vote for them so that they could represent the rich and powerful only? Did you vote for them so that they would kow-tow to Taib? Did you vote for them because they could intimidate you and bribe you with your own money? Did you vote for them so that they could commit blatant corruption and all other manner of atrocities on the face of our beautiful land?

SAY NO! SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! SAY TIME FOR CHANGE!

AS FOR YOU TAIB, TIME'S UP!

GO BEFORE YOU ARE UNCEREMONIOUSLY BOOTED OUT OR DRAGGED TO YOUR GRAVE!

AND DON"T TRY TO TAKE YOUR ILL-GOTTEN WEALTH WITH YOU!

IT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE OF SARAWAK!

The sheer hypocrisy just makes me sick.Read the headers in the mainstream media... don't know why SUPP lost ? Most people of all races are just plain sick of you for a host of reasons .. nepotism, cronyism, racism and just plain uselessness as a mouth piece for the leeches that call themselves our wakil rakyat.
Look at what you have done for Sarawak for the last few decades.
People just want change from these leeches that are sucking our state dry.Just anyone for a change and hope.
Even in defeat still so full of it!
One thing good from these BN puppets from the Sibu episode and that is they showed their true colours from their top to bottom henchmen.

There is one sure way to find out when Taib Mahmud will be inspired enough to dissolve DUN and pave the way for state election is for George Chan to resign from his cabinet post and his state seat for the sake of all Malaysians in Sarawak.

George Chan, as president of SUPP, must step down and be personally responsible for SUPP’s defeat in Sibu Buy Election on 516.

And the fact that he said he didn’t know why the voters were unhappy with SUPP and UMNO controlled BN, showed that he is no longer qualified to hold any cabinet post and or represent the people of N.63-Piasau Miri.

That will spare the raykat and the press from speculating when the next State Eection will be held.

All the Churches which received grant (but in the eyes of God it is inducement or corruption) from UMNO controlled BN during the Sibu Buy Election campaign, should form a special committee to redistribute a portion or all the money to those Dayaks longhouses, Malays kampungs or Chinese villages and or rural schools which have yet to be connected with electricity and treated water. Get the advice of engineering consultants and also our new MP YB Wong Ho Leng on how best to carry out a gotong royong in these areas to connect electricity and treated water to these neglected Malaysians.

I will be most willing to volunteer myself as a labourer and am sure many Malaysians from all parts will be willing to work for free on this noble cause and project.

I beg to differ with all political analysts that rural voters still stick to BN in future voting trend. Firstly, Dayaks living in rural Sarawak are living in a small group of usually less than 120 doors. They like to live “peacefully” among themselves and have been indoctrinated for the last 47 years that Oppostion are trouble makers and will cause their longhouse folks to quarrel among themselves.

The indoctrination had worked and the fear are still there that voting against the government of the day will cause unwanted bickering and quarrel in their longhouses which they wanted to avoid.Of course they had been threatened into believing that future grants and projects would be withdrawn if BN candidate lost.

So rural voters, while voting for Barisan National( BN), did not vote against Pakatan Rakyat(PR) either in the true sense because there was never another government in the last 47 years!

Slowly but surely they will be enlightened when they are aware that the two party system of governance has become a reality in our country.

Will There Be a Buy Election in Kinabatangan, Sabah. P187 ?? The MP, Bung “Kotex” Mokhtar who owns a Porsche Cayenne costing USD400,000.00 in Malaysia, will be sentenced in syariah court tomorrow for illegal polygamy.

Bring it own BN. let’s Malaysians enjoy more Buy Elections.

I was shocked to read that the PM promised to provide funds for Sibu to resolve its flood problems in return for their votes for BN. How can the PM hold people to ransom? Has he forgotten or does he not know that it is the government's duty to govern? It is the right of Sibu people to development projects. After all, it is their tax money that pays for these. Now one learns that the government uses this money to bargain with the people for votes!! Well, I never!!! I'm glad the people of Sibu took this as a gross insult and voted for the Opposition. Congratulations, Sibu voters. May the voters of Kuchng and Miri follow Sibu's lead.

Never before in Sibu — Wee Wui Keat (loyarburok.com)
May 19, 2010

MAY 19 — Never before in Sibu have we seen such a strong line of a multi-ethnic opposition coalition working together hand-in-hand way into the wee hours of the night to bring about change.

Never before in Sibu have we seen so many Malays proudly wearing DAP caps and wearing DAP shirts on the streets and sidewalk.

Never before in Sibu have we seen a Malay woman donning the tudung, hoisting a huge DAP flag.

Never before in Sibu kopitiam have we seen Chinese men inviting Malay PKR men (who are strangers to them) to engage in an amicable and spirited conversation about political issues and problems.

Never before in Sibu have we witnessed such a wide range of formerly-alleged-as “taboo” and “sensitive” issues analysed and discussed in front of a huge and eager multi-racial audience in such peace, non-hostility, and good faith.

Never before in Sibu have we witnessed such a huge 15,000-strong public turn up at the Opposition’s grand finale ceramah on May 15, 2010 and stayed there for six consecutive hours — from 6.00pm to midnight.

Not only were they there on their own accord, they did not leave when it drizzled, they were not paid to turn up, and they even donated on the spot for the cause.

Never before in Sibu have we witnessed a huge public crowd that is more drawn to listen to speech on issues instead of seeing fireworks and helicopters flying.

Never before in Sibu have we witnessed our Malaysian prime minister flying in to Sibu three times in a week to campaign for one sole Parliamentary seat — which the ruling coalition also alleged that the opposition would not be able to do anything with — thus showing to Sibu people how important that one seat is.

Much is owed to the fact that it was a lone by-election and hence the deployment of all the national heavyweight political figures from both sides of the divide.

Never before in Sibu when we have such a huge successive public attendance at ceramahs night after night involving multi-racial cross-section of the community where there is total devotion to listen to every word spoken without any incentive to lure the public by offering food, BBQ, jamuan makan malam or rumah terbuka feasts, lucky draw, beauty contest, karaoke singing competition, and all that rubbish.

Never before in Sibu has the Election Commission headquarters at Sibu Civic Centre been cordoned off by so many police and FRU with all surrounding roads blocked off amidst serious traffic jam due to the huge public crowd gathering in the rain to await the final outcome of an election around the Civic Centre.

Never before in Sibu have so many of my friends come to realise the value of being a registered voter and cherish the ability to vote.

Never before in Sibu have I heard young people telling each other “I am going to register as a voter, fly home and vote next time to do my part.”

Sibu by-election May 16, 2010 is a day of so many “Firsts” for Sibu and I wish it will also trigger many more “Firsts” for the rest of the Central Region of Sarawak.

It is indeed a miracle.

The helpless rural poor ain’t heavy for us. They are our brothers. They are not a burden to us with their lack of education. We shall continue to fight for their interest and help them to help themselves to first to regain their identity and dignity and to know their right to developing their own land.

Every effort now must be made to register the rural youths and educate them to differentiate good government and governance from the corrupted and oppressive.

All religious institutions in Sarawak and Sabah must take it upon themselves as their moral responsibility to preach and speak out against abuse of political power, corruptions and seek just use of power.

As a christian I strongly feel the church and all religious institutions have a role in all activities relating to governing, guiding and building a civil society. All religious institutions must not turn away from socio-political-economic issues and concerns. As a christian I can attest that Scriptures and history clearly support the church’s place in these concerns.

All religious leaders in Malaysia must be bold to deliberate on the role and involvement of religious institutions in socio-political-economic issues.

Sarawak and Sabah will still be the best states in Malaysia for all religious institution to preach and speak out against the abuse of political power, corruptions and seek the just use of power.

Taib Mahmud special Gawai message to all rural voters :

The UMNO controlled BN government did not issue land titles to the rural poor was for their own good to protect the rural poor and prevent them from selling their land.

The UMNO controlled BN government did not connect electricity and water to the rural poor was to protect the environment and save them from having to pay for utilities.

The UMNO controlled BN government did not build roads and bridges to the rural poor was to prevent the Opposition from reaching to them and poisoning their minds.

The UMNO controlled BN government did not want the rural poor to be educated and prosperous for their own good so that they would not be influenced by Opposition to cause trouble.

Lastly Happy Gawai and spend your grant wisely because I am not inspired to give out another grant yet. Be happy and drink as much as possible to drown your sorrows.

UMNO controlled BN government not only practise CORRUPTIONS but some prominent leaders even consulted Bomohs rather than the rakyat. Taib Mahmud should know better as he is ranked among the richest man in the world and Najib will soon be among the top 100 richest men in the world.

Who do Malaysians believe to be lying? Pakatan or Taib and Najib? Will both Najib and Taib prefer to be corporate figures rather than be the PM of Malaysia and CM of Sarawak respectively??

Malaysians must take back the power we entrusted to UMNO controlled BN government. We must vote out this highly corrupted and oppressive government and shall not be intimidated at all.

Vote Pakatan national wide.

Mata Kuching said...

To YB Wong Ho Leng. Pakatan has just managed to cause a significant crack on the wall of Taib Mahmud’s Empire. Taib’s lieutenants in SUPP, PRS and SPDR are gearing to strike back together with their master. The fall of Taib in the hands of Pakatan will annihilate his Empire for sure and also the end of BN Sarawak and shall definitely hasten the demise of UMNO and all its stooges in BN.

DAP and its Pakatan coalitions must now be seen to be working in cohesion and be committed to launch an aggressive and well coordinated “attack” against the massive arsenal of Taib in the coming election. Pakatan must fight to “kill” and win control of Petrajaya and not just to seriously wound the paramount white crocodile.

Pakatan in Sarawak comprising DAP, PAS, PKR and SNAP must jointly plan to register more voters especially in the rural constituencies. PAS and PKR muslim members must not be afraid to be seen even in the vicinity of Churches and Temples or be seen in the company of Christians, Buddhists, Taoists or Sikhs or Hindus while working together to register voters. Pakatan should organise inter-faith or inter- religious dialogues periodically and organise voters registrations in churches, mosques, or temples on a weekly basis with a good mix of members from all religions.

Only then the rural folks and Sarawakians will appreciate better the struggles of Pakatan for a just and fair government that takes care of the interests of all Malaysians regardless of their political affiliations.

Mata Kuching said...

Urban voters which happened to have Chinese majority voters simply want good governance, a just and fair government that work for all races, a government which practise accountability, transparency, a government which respect the rule of laws and uniting all races to achieve progress in all fields. Unfortunately, MCA and SUPP still missed the points when trying to win the hearts of Chinese voters. Seeking RM100 billion just for Chinese education alone and at the expense of all other races and especially the rural schools and poor, will not win Chinese support at all. The Chinese and majority of urban voters voted for the Pakatan because they felt UMNO controlled BN will not reform itself and BN dominated by UMNO which has created a big mess and downgraded Malaysia to what it is today was because UMNO only wants to cling to power at all cost. The Chinese and majority of urban voters also felt its their moral responsibility to fight for the interest of the helpless and rural poor and are determined to get rid of any corrupted and authoritarian regime.

Mata Kuching said...

The Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, Joseph Salang, should not, as one of the educated Dayak leaders, try to manipulate the minds of the less educated rural poor and imprison their thoughts and views of what are happening to them and around them. He has deliberately and dishonestly spook fear in the already poor rural folks that if they choose to vote against BN like the voters in urban constituencies they would be left behind in development and progress for at least four years or more. Did Salang being one of the educated Dayak realise that these people whom he talked to had never seen development and progress in their longhouse for the last 48 years under the rule of UMNO controlled BN led by a notorious paramount pirate CM in Sarawak?

Would Joseph Salang choose to live in the longhouse and confine his parents and siblings to the hardship of living in the interior Sarawak without electricity and treated water and cut off from developments which we witnessed even in Opposition constituency like Bukit Bintang and Kuching just to name two . And Bukit Bintang under the DAP since 1960s is one of the most modern, developed and thriving constituencies in Malaysia today.

The Minister in the Chief Minister Department, Fatimah Abdullah, should be feeling most guilty when she admitted that there were many schools like SMK Balai Ringin in Sarawak which were in dire need of repairs and improvements. Financial constrains had caused the projects to be stalled yet she was not daring to speak out aginst the way his boss and PM splashed money to 65 schools and 5 churches in Sibu which did not need the money in the recent Sibu Buy Election. Infact none of the BN lawmakers in Sarawak dared to speak against such blatant bribery and inducement for votes at the expense of all rural poor who had waited for 48 years to be connected with electricity and treated water and schools to be repaired and improved. Some schools had yet to be built despite the urgency.

It is too little to show and too late to convince the rakyat to be united behind UMNO controlled BN in Sarawak. 48 years is already too long. NO more lame excuses. The root cause of Sarawak been one of the poorest state in Malaysia despite our rich natural resources was because of Massive corruption and abuse of power by Tun Rahman and now Taib Mahmud.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Sarawak is ready for Change.

James Masing has committed sedition by warning that should Pakatan be elected to govern Sarawak and Putrajaya, there would be another “May 13″ riot. The UMNO controlled BN should be grateful that the people did not resort to overthrowing the current corrupted and authoritarian regime. UMNO controlled BN is now seeing an imminent end to its misrule. The Bumiputras in Sarawak and Malaysia will never lose their rights as enshrined in theconstitution under a Pakatan government. The right to rule a state does not belong to any race, individual or political party. The power belong to the people who will entrust the power to the political party that earns their trust to rule. There are abundant qualified Dayaks, Malays, Melanaus in Sarawak who are credible, honest and committed to serving the interest of the people to replace the like of James Masing, Taib Mahmud, Jabu and the rest of the the stooges in the present corrupted regime.

Malaysians are well prepared for a change and for any possible troubles that UMNO controlled BN might be plotting should the current corrupted and authoritarian regime has its power to rule withdrawn by the people.

Malaysians are well aware of American history and that America would not be as great today without the civil war it endured. Malaysians are peace loving people but we shall not stand by to witness our country and economy heading the way of Greece due to the massive corruption and abuse of power of its elected leaders.

We challenge James Masing and any other BN lawmarkers who issued ” May 13″ warning to frighten the people to initiate a riot if and when UMNO controlled BN government falls in Sarawak and Putrajaya.

M’sians made to pay for BN’s profligacy
May 28, 10 7:43AM
free ‘What about the billions stolen from Petronas, commissions, power contracts, inflated project costs, and of course the bailouts of cronies? Why no alarm bells for these?’

The rakyat will be made to suffer for future debts even with the gradual removal of subsidies. Obvious subsidies are not the real cause of our country going broke.

Malaysia is like an ordinary person who after working for 52 years and yet have no savings in the bank and EPF and his children have to pay for his debts for many years to come and may even have to pay for his coffin.

First thing first if we ever want to save our country. Without kicking out the highly corrupted regime of UMNO controlled BN government, we will not be able to stop all the leakages and wastages in the form of commissions, highly inflated procurements, contracts and projects. Nobody including lawmakers from both political divide actually know how much “real” money are left in the coffers of Petronas and KWSP. If Sime Darby, one of the largest GLC can incur known losses of more than RM1.8 billion and possibly more which was not detected, one can imagine how much money in Petronas and KWSP have been systematically siphoned off and disguised as another “business deal and decision” of the board under the directive of the country most powerful man.

While Malaysians look forward to celebrating Hari Gawai Dayak, we shall also be strengthening the movement to save Malaysia across the country and to heartlands of every states.

Selamat Hari Gawai to all our Dayak brothers and sisters. May God bless you all.

Malaysians have nothing to look forward to when UMNO controlled BN government is staring at the prospect of leading our country to bankruptcy in 9 years time.Every single Malaysians especially the rural poor have been held at ransom . In a well managed country and economy the landowners and farmers are usually earning above average income and becoming millionaires than those working in the offices and in the civil service. But in Malaysia the UMNOputras and BN warlords and even law enforcement officers are amongst the richest in the country which is expected to be bankrupt before we realise vision 2020 to be a developed country.

The rural Malays, Chinese, Dayaks, Kadazan, Dusun and Indians have always been used as pawn and held at ransom by UMNO controlled BN government for the last 52 years. We must not allow this highly corrupted and authoritarian regime to divide us by race and religion. We must unite in diversity and in the fear of GOD to kick out this regime which enriched themselves and sabotaged our economy and for leading our beloved country which has always been rich in resources, cultures and diversity down the gutter.

Is Taib Mahmud politically stronger than all the Dayaks leaders? The answer is a definite NO. So long as the Dayaks leaders in PBB, SPDP and PRS did not accumulate any business debts or living on bank overdrafts, these leaders can tell Taib to kiss their asses. As for the rakyat , regardless if they live in poverty they can tell all the self serving politicians and law makers to kiss their asses too! So you can see who are the real BOSSES now? Of course the real BOSSES are the rakyat who can tell the self serving politicians and law makers in UMNO controlled BN to kiss their asses and use the ballot papers to wipe off their saliva before voting them out. UMNO controlled BN has been sleep walking in their talk for the past 52 years! Enough is Enough. Lets tell Najib, Taib, George, Jabu, Masing , Mawan and their corrupted and authoritarian regime to kiss our asses. KISS OUR ASSES BN!

You were right Mr Taib Mahmud to say that the Bumiputras in Sarawak which I believe you were referring to the rural poor, needed the government to help them because they knew they were poor and lived a very difficult life BUT these rural poor have yet to tell you that they need a new government to help them!

Mr Taib Mahmud, you can’t fool all the rural poor all the times and even your own Melanaus are voting against you. Only a Bodoh Sombong like you will like to think the Bumiputras votes are already in your bag. Bring it on Mr Taib, dissolve the DUN now and call for state election.
